Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians, also known as physiatrists, treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons.

PM&R physicians are medical doctors who have completed physical medicine and rehabilitation training and have broad medical expertise to treat disabling conditions of all ages. Many have subspecialties in Brain Injury Medicine, Neuromuscular Medicine, Pain Medicine, Sports Medicine, and more.

MD stands for doctor of medicine. MDs are allopathic doctors, and they treat and diagnose conditions using conventional medical tools like diagnostics, prescription drugs, rehabilitation therapy, and surgery.

Board certification represents a significant level of achievement for a physician. It demonstrates that they have mastered the core disciplines and procedures necessary to provide the best possible care to patients and know the latest advancements in their specialty.

At CITIMED, all of our physicians are board-certified.

A nurse practitioner (NP) is a type of APRN. NPs assess a patient’s needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose conditions and injuries and formulate and prescribe treatment plans.

Nurse Practitioners have undergone advanced formal education and training in a wide range of health care services enabling them to practice similarly to doctors, consulting with physicians as needed.

They are skilled in the physical examination and treatment of many acute and chronic injuries, prescribing prescriptions, and referring to specialists.

An APRN or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is a nursing professional with specialized education for a specific patient population or skill set.

There are four different nursing specializations under APRNs. CNS, CRNA, CNM, and NP.

CITIMED does not take personal healthcare insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid. We accept all Personal Injury Protection (PIP), also known as no-fault insurance, and letters of protection (LOP).
